This year, we celebrated Mother's Day at Gardens by the Bay!
The name itself already sounds damn atas. My dad suggested this place. He clearly knows his food very well eh.
Burnt a huge hole in our pockets. But never mind, what matters is that we are all happy!
Take chilling out to new heights with an unforgettable bistro experience50-metres high on top of the tallest Supertree. (That's the selling point.)
We reserved a table at 6.30pm and apparently the night is still too young, because we had the whole place to ourselves!
And I am the only drinking. As always.
Disclaimer: I am NOT an alcoholic. NOT AT ALL.
They serve Indochinese, Western and Chinese fusion dishes here.
Starters: Supertree platter that consists of Vietnamese rice rolls, spring rolls, pork with lychee and roast beef.
I was actually about 50% full after the starters. Haha
My momma and poppa!
Highly recommended by my dad - the lamb racks!
My bro and dad had that each. Very tender and very yummy!
Surprisingly, my brother said he was full after this though it looks quite small. (FYI, his appetite is HUGE)
There is mashed sweet potato at the side too, very special right?
My mains - sautéed black pepper beef.
Ya, I know that it looks quite normal. But it was really nice, in my opinion.
I like how it's already cut up into bite sizes and they provided salad greens in a separate bowl to go with the beef. Feeling healthy and at least there is no carbs =)
My mom's mains - some fish that is really quite big in portion.
The meat was very firm and everyone loved it! A bit too firm for me though, I would have preferred softer fish.
Stan's mains - Kurobuta pork.
The yellow thing beneath the pork is pumpkin puree. Very big portion too!
As night falls, you get to see a different side of the restaurant and of course the beautiful view outside that our Singapore government has designed!
Mother's Day is not complete without a cake! (says who??)
This small piece of Tiramisu (serves 6-7 mouthfuls) costs $16! Crazy price.
After dinner, we went up to bar above the restaurant just to have a look around.
Because no one wants to drink. (except me)
Our celebration was marked with the nightly "Musical Trees" that lasted 15 minutes. My first time watching.
But my mom loved it. I think she took about 100 pictures within that 15 minutes? Hahahaha
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!
Especially to my mom, who always wakes up earlier than any of us, to prepare our breakfast.
She mades wonderful dinners too (sometimes teppanyaki, sometimes popiah, sometimes char kway teow). She has taken care of us very well! (as you can tell from how fat we are all growing). I love my mom!
Albeit naggy at times, she has an adorable side too. That's what makes her so attractive and unique!
P.s. do like my facebook page "Everything in Red" for snippets of interesting/sarcastic comments everyday!
