I have to get this post done before my next trip to Bangkok on the 10th! Haha yes, you read it correctly. I am going for another trip! Wahahahaha...
Day 5: Breakfast at Macs!
Most Japanese eateries are not open so early in the morning and we found Macs, so just give it a try lor.
Super cute packaging but the ambience is really dead and lonely. Macs in Japan is like the library, so quiet and they have individual cubicles! I don't like it at all..
We went to Den-Den Town, about 15 minutes' walk away from Swissotel Namba.
This place is famous for all the Japanese anime and manga stuff. Two long stretches of all anime shops!
We really walked under the hot sun for a looong time. And you have to remember the prices because each item in a different store will have a different price!
Lunch time at a local ramen eatery!
Anything to escape from the scorching sun! and this place is supposedly quite a famous ramen store.
The portion is so huge that I only managed to finish half a bowl. My brother said that the staff will be very disappointed and think that their food is not good because the Japanese would have finished everything, even the last drop of soup!
Once you have reached the end of Den-Den Town, you would have reached Tennoji station and there are more shopping malls there!
By this time, our feet were really worn out and we are all very tired!
Shabu Shabu for dinner sounds really good and so we went in immediately!
70 minute buffet at S$26 per person with super good meat, no complains about this at all!
Meat will be served upon ordering. But the other food (e.g. udon, veggies, mushrooms, tofu, etc) will be available at the buffet counter.
Sorry no pictures because we were super busy for the next 60 minutes. Distribute meat into hotpot, cook, eat, add veg, drink soup, the whole cycle was on non-stop repeat mode! =)
Day 6: Namba area
We explored the Namba area today and boy, it was HUGE!!
I haven't seen a single F21 or H&M in Japan until today! Super happy.
The clothes in the usual departmental stores are all too old/expensive for me. So I was really thrilled to see a brand that I finally recognised with reasonable prices!
Weather super hot too. Which explains my mom's black face.
She was really happy to hide inside F21 enjoying the aircon while I combed through the entire 4-storey building!
Lunch at a fusion restaurant!
My brother didn't join us for shopping today because his feet was hurting too much and decided to rest in the hotel. If not he won't be able to endure the long journey back to the Kansai Airport on the next day.
The only Daiso we saw! And we only had 20 minutes before we had to go back to meet my brother for dinner!
So wasted, if not we would have bought a lot more! Everything here is 100yen unless stated otherwise.
They have lotsa cool and interesting stuff but we didn't have time to explore in detail. Boo..
Dinner was good but we had a hard time communicating with the restaurant staff.
Everything you ask, they go "Hai hai hai"
I nearly went crazy trying to make her understand what I want.
Nevertheless, good sashimi!
The awesome nightview from our hotel room. Gorgeous eh?
6 July is my mom's birthday and we shopped the whole basement one of the Takashimaya to find a suitable birthday cake (my mom doesn't take cheese, so it was tough finding something non-cheese!)
I love this picture of my parents. So sweet right?
My mom got a HUGE birthday present from my dad. Shuang liao lor...
I feel bad not getting anything for her. I better think of something soon.
Before it becomes TOO belated. Lol
Day 7: Last minute shopping and back to Singapore!
We bought some popular snacks to bring home as souvenirs and it was time to make our way to the Airport after lunch!
Check out my mom's "buay tahan this vainpot"expression. Classic.
Yakitori for lunch at Namba! After spending one full day at Namba yesterday, we are not really done with the area yet! That's how big Namba is.
So the next time you plan to come to Osaka, be sure to stay in Namba!
After travelling for over an hour via train to Kansai Airport, we took a shuttle bus from Kansai Airport to the Premium Outlet Store.
Shuttle bus comes every half hourly and you have to pay by cash. 100 yen per person per trip.
Nothing worth exploring, in my opinion. We didn't manage to buy anything at all.
All the brands were more of their homebrands and the worst thing is, not much discount at all!
Either the discount isn't really attractive or the designs are really past-season and ugly.
Remember the ICOCA card that I mentioned in the first part of this travelogue?
These are the cards! It's like our ez-link card and you can top up at any station. So this saves you the trouble of having to buy single-trip tickets everytime you need to take the train.
At the last day of your trip, you can get back the balance + 500 yen (refundable deposit) - 210 yen (admin fee) at the ticketing office of Kansai Airport office.
Last meal in Osaka - sushi at the airport!
Not great and my mom didn't like it.
I wasn't really feeling well that day, so not many pictures to share.
