We are exploring the MRT line today and it's my favourite stop - Union Mall!
It's my favourite stop because most of my shopping stuff are from here.
And it might be better if we have more colourful taxis in Singapore, just like in Bangkok. Makes our road more vibrant in colours and gives life to the whole place!
We found two new malls at Phahon Yothin - Grand Central and another mall which I can't remember the name..
This is the first time I saw this shop even though I have read about it many times!
We had our first Krispy Kreme donut in Bangkok because we needed the WiFi to check in our return flight back to Singapore two days later! And Bumblebee came along too. Hee..
The smaller mall next to Grand Central has a very good nail parlour and I had my pedicure done there at only 550 baht (including nail art). Took quite a while because the manicurist was soooo detailed and careful.
It's a good thing right?
After my pedicure, we had lunch back at Union Mall's A&W. We came here for lunch just for the curly fries but it was a disappointment because the fries were cold. Not nice........
After shopping for hours, our feet were tired and we decided to have dinner here before heading off to our next destination.
We are not fans of buffet but this one was quite cheap and Stan was craving for the Korean Army Stew! Actually, we were the only two having the army stew buffet in the restaurant. The other customers were having the Korean BBQ. It's about 238baht (S$10) per person.
After dinner, we went to Central at Chit Lom to get some pants for Stan and we found it! LOL super happy because it's really quite rare even in Singapore.
And we were so lucky to chance upon their weekly flea market just outside Big C! Held on every Friday of the week. Super bustling right?
We found many handmade items going at fab prices. Regret not buying more =(
Day 4: Our last full day in Bangkok!
Today we are off to the Siam area but it was raining so we decided to have an early lunch while waiting for the rain to stop.
Been seeing many people post about this Greyhound Cafe in Siam Square, so we wanted to try it out. But the service was super bad...... Clearly there were many empty tables in the restaurant but they said that we could only sit near the outside where everyone can walk past and see what we are eating. Their attitude was quite bad too. So Stan got pissed and we walked away.
After many unpleasant experiences at the cafes in Siam Square, we finally settled on the good ol' Fuji Restaurant!
The food is soooo good and cheap! I can never get sick of it.
It was quite an unpleasant day for us after encountering all the rude service staff and there was NOTHING to buy at Siam and Central area. So we both got quite sian diao.
This cheesecake below isn't good at all, from Central at Chit Lom. I think the Thais are not good at making Western desserts. And they can't understand even simple English! Faint......
We headed back to the hotel earlier because we wanted to have ample time to rest and pack our luggages before our morning flight the next day back to Singapore.
So we ordered room service for dinner. The dish at the top left hand corner of the picture was supposed to be calamari, didn't know how it became sautéed squid. I guess their definition of calamari isn't the fried one. But otherwise, the rest of the food tasted good!
This is all of our shopping loot after 4 days in Bangkok. So little right??? I got super sad and Stan went out with me at 10pm to shop along the roadside stalls outside Central World for some last minute shopping.
Literally last minute!! LOL
After shopping and packing, we had cheap cheap Magnum ice cream S$1.60 to end off the night!
I want to share this new thing with you guys.
Now Bangkok has FINALLY created their version of our EZ link card - the Rabbit card!
Can be purchased from all BTS stations and there are promotion tie-ins with other merchants!
Note: Can't be used at MRT stations though.
With this card, you don't have to queue up at the ticketing machines every time you wanna take the train, just tap and go!
Last day in Bangkok, we had some Thai tea (that looks like Kopi-O in the picture below) and fried chicken wings while waiting for our flight.
We are quite done with Bangkok already...... Nothing to buy anymore.
