If you know me well enough, you'd know that I don't eat supper. But one day, we just decided to have a late dinner and I suggest mookata. Have always seen pictures of yummy mookata on Instagram and I wanna try it for myself!
Mookata at Golden Mile
It comes in a set, you just need to sit down and wait for food to be served! The only stuff you can order are the drinks and bowls of rice or refills (chargeable, I think).
It is $45 for a whole set as seen in the picture below. If you are a small eater, I think the set is enough to feed 4. Otherwise, 3 persons are fine too. It's a HUGE portion for two. And I am a very slow and small eater. (ok, maybe not that small, but definitely slow). LOL
Everything is very tasty! They marinated the meats beforehand, so when you put it to cook, it becomes very flavourful! I never got sick of it!
=)
Ok I must share about this sauce. They gave us one big bowl of sauce per person. My first thought was, "It looks very spicy. Might give it a miss."
But I gave it a try and to my pleasant surprise, it wasn't very spicy. It had a very unique taste; savoury, sweet, sour and spicy all in one!
The two pieces of lard to lubricate the pan.
What's so special about mookata that it's a grill and steamboat all combined into one. Even after grilling, you can choose to dip it into the soup around the grill and voila, the meat locks in the flavor and at the same time, is less oily!
It seems like they just poured clear water into the "drain" around the grill but the soup was so good! After all the ingredients that went into the mookata, the soup had all the essence and flavours.
Even up till today, I am still missing this mookata! I swear, the next time I go to Bangkok, I have to find the real thing and see if the one at Golden Mile is authentic.
End off your mookata with their Thai Milk Tea and your dinner will be complete! And honestly, one cup is not enough at all!
