Food Galore: Hai Di Lao at Clarke Quay

I made a reservation one month before Mother's Day just to try out this steamboat!

I have always loved to eat steamboat but there ain't many good places in Singapore to enjoy steamboat. Well, I can finally say that I have found one now!

Hai Di Lao
#02-04 3D River Valley Road
Tel: 6337 8626

While waiting for your table, you can enjoy their professional manicure services and board games and fruits and drinks! Super shuang right?

I didn't get a chance to try the manicure because there were many people waiting! Oh wells, it's not a must-have, just good-to-have.

You can make your own unique mix of sauces!
Free flow at $4 per pax.

Soup is at about $20 per pot. Free flow of course. But I can't really remember how much it is for a mixed pot. We had the mala (spicy) soup and mixed mushrooms soup. Very nice!

We were seated at 12.30pm and had a waiter assigned to us. He was very patient to explain everything to us and took our orders correctly. Most of us would probably set the expectations that the Chinese waiters would be very rude and snobbish. But your impression will definitely change for the better after visiting this place! Most of them are really well-mannered and they would accede to your requests promptly. Such a pleasant dining experience, I must say.

The place filled up pretty fast and soon it was full house! So please make an advance reservation or you will really have to waste time waiting!

The items on the menu are priced at full portion. You can adjust the portion according to your own needs and the price will be amended automatically. That's very considerate of them because this way, we could try a wider variety of food without getting ourselves stuffed!

All the ingredients were really fresh! I especially love dipping the fish into the male soup, delicious! We had a really good time cooking the food, mixing our own sauces and bonding over a good lunch!

We spent about $40 per pax for the lunch. Be prepared to splurge if you are there for the variety and all the good food because it will definitely be worth it! =)
