I am back with a super loooooooong post. Lotsa pictures to share!
Took me at least 1.5 hours to upload these photos before I can actually start writing.
We took the picture below on our own! Used the "Split Pic" app in iPhone.
When at the airport, you tend to do touristy stuff (read: take pictures with M&M).
This is my first time taking budget airlines and before this, I actually read quite a bit on Facebook about Scoot having delays.
I know that it's quite common for budget airlines to have delays but of course, I hope I won't have to experience it first-hand.
Our flight to Bangkok was quite a screw up. But after I read about how the passengers got stuck at the airport for more than 12 hours, I think I am considered really lucky.
We managed to board the flight on time, only to have to wait around for at least 45 minutes to an hour before it actually took off.
I didn't order the food on the flight as you are allowed to bring your own food. Besides, the flight is only 2.5 hours (supposed to be, though mine stretched to 3.5hours).
After we finally reached the hotel (Legacy Suites), it was about 9.30pm Bangkok time.
The shops were closing and we could only try to find dinner and rest for the night.
We got a free upgrade to the New Wing (the one we booked was at the old wing) which just got renovated recently.
However, there wasn't any stove or washing machine in our room. (only in selected rooms)
It's still quite big and clean, so I won't complain much.
Our hotel is at Sukhumvit (BTS) / Asok (MRT) station, about 10-15 minutes walk away.
Exactly where Terminal 21 is. We wanted a hotel in that region so that we will have the convenience of a shopping mall near us without having to take the train.
Found a cafe serving thai food and we just ordered quickly coz we were famished!
Pad thai and chicken wrapped in pandan leaves.
The pad thai was too salty though the noodles were quite springy. Chicken a bit too tough for my liking.
Long Island Iced Tea at S$6! Unbeatable price and it's actually quite strong.
My fave out of the whole meal.
We explored the area a bit and found this hidden alley that is actually quite happening!
But we are not party animals, so we just continued walking back to the hotel to rest for the night!
Some tidbits and mineral water at the convenience store first.
˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜
Next morning, I woke up pretty early (not to go to the pool or gym). So this is the view in the day!
Most would think girls can buy lotsa stuff at Platinum Fashion Mall. Now there is actually an extension just next to the original building.
And yet I still didn't buy anything except for a top that costs 250 baht (S$10).
Not exactly cheap la! And only one top from the whole Mall??
The quality of the clothes are going downhill while the prices are on the rise. So I have nothing to buy from there. Pissed.
Lunch at Fuji Restaurant
I was seething with anger (literally) coz I couldn't find anything to buy at Platinum Fashion Mall.
So we decided to head to Union Mall instead!
Teabreak at A&W first!
Didn't take much pictures after tea break coz we were just busy trying to converse with the locals in their broken english and trying on clothes.
I bought some really nice skirts from Union Mall and the prices were reasonable: 200baht - 400baht (S$8 - S$16)
Stan was knocked during the foot massage session afterwards. I guess he isn't used to shopping long hours non-stop!
Dinner at Jeffer's Grill.
We weren't hungry and decided to get a combo meal (you can mix and match your own faves to make a combo).
Only costs S$5
˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜˜
Breakfast on the next day!
Check out the cute toothpicks they use!
Weekend market - Chatuchak!
We didn't really wanna come here if not for buying some tidbits for my mom.
Coz it's really crowded and there usually isn't much to buy.
We took the MRT and alighted at the station after Chatuchak to avoid the usual crowds at the BTS station.
Plus the exit is right in the middle of the market and you won't have to squeeze your way through the crowds while beating the roadside traffic!
Some shots before we got down to serious shopping!
After the hot weather, we decided to head back to T21 for lunch and spend the rest of the day there.
Lunch at Sansab
We were quite excited to try out this place coz it looks quite crowded.
*typical Singapore pattern*
While waiting for our food, the glasses of ice suddenly fell and the ice cubes dropped onto me!
We were sitting just beside the drinks counter and clearly the clumsy waitress weren't looking la!
I was really quite pissed and shouted really loudly. Everyone turned to stare and I don't care.
My pissed black face. Bu shuang
When the food finally came, I was still quite pissed.
So i didn't really enjoy this meal. Food is not bad but service is super lousy.
They took forever to get us the bill and didn't offer any proper apology at all!
Please don't patronize this place, ever.
I love supermarkets! Going around and exploring the different stuff they have makes me happy.
I have no idea what drink exactly it is but the One Piece packaging caught my eye immediately!
Regretted not buying a few packets back because our luggage still had quite a bit of space at the end of the trip!
You don't have to go to Korea to get Korean toothpaste.
We bought a lot of tidbits at a shop (T21, basement) and they even got us a cardboard box. So this time, we don't have to get one from the supermarket!
Dinner at T21 food court
This fried omelette with rice is one of the most value for money meals we had on this trip!
It's quite big and only costs 35 baht (S$1.40) with lotsa prawns!
Super scrumptious too. (maybe coz we were too hungry)
Supper for the night
Microwavable pad thai, cup noodles and char siew puff!
Yes, we bought all these from the tidbits shop (excluding the 林真香).
Crazy right? But who can get enough of these snacks??
Not many pictures this time round because all the places we went to have been previously blogged about.
Will be introducing a new place in my next blog post about our Bangkok trip.
I love Bangkok! (maybe not the shopping anymore...)
