Bistro du Vin

Very crowded even during lunchtime! Be sure to make a reservation or go earlier =)
And so we had the set lunch (very very worth it!)

My brother - Darren!
Congrats on your promotion! Woots!

My starter - Foie gras ravioli with shaved mushrooms and port wine sauce
I am a huge fan of foie gras. But if you are looking for the pan-fried or sautéed kind, then I am afraid this does not fit the bill.
The ravioli skin is really good, texture is smooth and goes very well with the sauce!

Darren's starter - Quiche tart with Bayonne ham, garlic and broccoli
I didn't get to try it coz I was still sick. But it must have been pretty good coz he polished off every bit!
Haha..

Darren's main - Stewed pork cheek with mashed potato
It looks very tender!

My main - Duck leg confit served with leek-pommery mash
Very huge portion and I almost couldn't finish it!
But thou shalt not waste food. So I ate it all! The mashed potato is very flavorful and the duck confit is nicely done.

Sides - Truffle fries
We added on $6 for this truffle fries and trust me, it's worth every dollar!
It's my first time trying truffle fries and I always thought that there will be some truffle shavings on top (as seen in the pictures of some bloogers).
But this is one amazing serving of fries that doesn't need any garnishing. The truffle taste is deeply infused in the fries and oh my, it is sooooo good!
Not usually a fries person, but this one definitely had me addicted to it!

Darren's dessert - Pink tiramisu
More like strawberry sherbet with whipped cream. But looks very pretty and nice!

My dessert - banana tart tartan with ginger and lemongrass ice cream
The sides of the tart were coated with burnt sugar and it is slightly crispy.
The lemongrass ice cream is very refreshing and completes my meal on a sweet note!

Once again, please do go for the set lunch because the ala carte prices are quite exp and it can go up to $70 per person for the same stuff, or even more.
I am becoming more like a food blogger! Hahaha, that's coz I don't shop in Singapore so I can't show you what I have bought!
I spend my weekends at home. So other than food, there isn't pretty much going on in my life. Kinda boring, I know. I don't do facial or dye my hair, so I can't comment on such stuff.
Do follow my instagram at @everythinginred for more updates on my foodie hunts! Will be sharing about another French restaurant soon.. Keep coming back to this space, folks!
