Day 6: Sinsadong and Itaewon

We explored a new shopping area this time - Sinsadong!

Most of the big foreign brands are here - F21, Zara, H&M, etc. It is not housed within a big shopping mall but rather, in separate buildings along the streets.

After you come out from Sinsa station, walk straight till you see the shop Top Ten, then turn left into the small lane.

You will find yourself in Garosoogil, the shopping district! We walked past Top Ten and lost our way. So don't repeat our mistake, please.

But getting lost turned out to be a blessing in disguise because we chanced upon this very very nice bakery cafe!

Oh my gosh, the smell of freshly baked pastries greeted us when we entered the place!

You hardly find such spacious bakeries in Singapore, let alone such a wide variety. We were spoilt for choices!

We didn't wanted to eat a lot because we wanted to find traditional Korean food. It was a fantastic place to chill.

All the diners were tai tais! Only they are so free to chill in a cafe on a weekday morning.

Amman and Lemon Tea. Sheer bliss.

We tried to ask the staff where is Garosoogil but they didn't know how to tell us in English. So we thought it's ok, we will figure our way out.

Just as we were chillaxing and taking in the view, a staff came up to us and gave us this map that they just drawn! How nice right??

My love for Koreans just increased 200%!!!! (Not like I don't love them enough already)

Such a sweet gesture and we felt really touched =)

Then it was shopping time! Sorry, no pictures because I was too caught up in F21, 5 storeys of F21 ok!

Just to share with you, I made the staff in F21 strip a mannequin because the mannequin was wearing the last pair of bottoms that I absolutely just had to get! Wahahahaha...

Desperate times call for desperate measures, you see.

After shopping, we went into this cafe at the top floor of a building.

This is the best of the view outside because it is way too cold to open the screens!

As usual, very peaceful and the staff was very nice!

We ordered a set of plain waffles and this is what we got!

This is plain?? Seriously?

The staff made us a cappuccino I think. We ordered latte! Anyway, we needed a hot drink. So that's fine.

Not enough time to continue shopping because we needed to head to our next destination!

But I will want to come back here again. Very quaint place full of locals. Away from the tourists.

Next stop - Itaewon

We wanted to walk around Itaewon (first time here as well). But boy, Itaewon is soooo boring!

It's just filled with expensive restaurants selling international cuisine at exorbitant prices! Booo...

Finally walked into a small alley full of Korean eateries. Many locals dine here!

Hungry already, just find one and order our food!

Supper for the night - Gimbab!!!

This one below costs 3,000 won and I can't really see the difference in the ingredients used compared to the 1,500 won ones. So I vowed to only stick to the 1,500 won ones. Equally tasty at half the price.

Last part of my Seoul trip coming up next! I am way behind time, but haven't been doing anything exciting recently anyway.

I want to plan my next trip! Ideas, anyone?
