Cafe-hopping: Lady M at Marina Square

Thursday, November 21, 2013

Met up with Chewy at Suntec and we ended up having cakes for dinner!

(that's what happens when you put two not-hungry girls together)

Marina Square Shopping Mall
6 Raffles Boulevard
#02-103
Singapore 039594

The place is pretty small and everything is white! White walls, white tables, white counter, white chairs, white cups and white plates.

It's not a good place to chill after dinner because the chairs are very uncomfortable and you won't be able to sit long.

We had two teas and two desserts to share - english breakfast tea, peppermint tea, checker cake and taste a la mangue.

I forgot to take a close up of the mango tart because we were too eager to tuck in! The mango topping had the right level of sourness and the tart pastry is good too!

We were deeply attracted to the checker cake because of the cute layout! Many tables around us ordered the same thing too. And this is how it was supposed to look like:

And look what was served to us that night:

Though it didn't look at all alike from the pictures, the sponge cake was surprisingly smooth and light! I have to say that the taste of the cake made up for what it was lacking in the appearance. The chocolate coating was good too, not too sweet.

And I still have to say it again, the checker cake looks very very different (in a bad way). The prices of the cakes are slightly on the high side and the place isn't comfortable. It's hard to get the attention of the waiters and waitresses. Their service is kinda slow and didn't look like they understood our orders.
