Food Galore: Strictly Pancakes and Teochew Porridge

Before I fly off to Bangkok (finally, it's here!!!), here's two places I visited recently and would like to share with you.
Strictly Pancakes 44A Prinsep Street Singapore 188674
I think I have blogged about this place before. Complained about its super bad service.
This time it's only slightly better. We got a sofa seat on the second floor but it took us a long time to get the waiter's attention.
GB and I went at 3plus but the place was still packed!
They have both sweet and savoury pancakes and you can also design your own menu!
Banana-Scotched - $11 Very strong taste of rum in the sauce with a generous portion of pancakes. We like!
Comes in a stack of three pancakes and the vanilla ice cream is yummy! I love vanilla ice cream =)
Snuggle Up - $13
The sausage and caramelized onions are very tasty but the pancakes were too thick for us.
All in all, the pancakes were not fluffy enough and it got a bit too much for us. The drinks were nothing fantastic (quite cheap though, around $5 each).
We still prefer the pancakes from Dean and Deluca. So I don't think I will be going back to this place anymore.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I quite like Teochew porridge with all its cai fan dishes but have never blogged about it.
This time, we found a place that serves cheap and good Teochew porridge!
Teochew Porridge 554 Machpherson Road
The dishes look simple but they taste great!
They have a wide range of dishes but Stan wasn't feeling well so we could only choose the bland ones.
2 bowls of porridge plus 4 dishes plus one cup of chrysanthemum tea = $11
p.s. Stan had diarrhoea and vomitting the next day after our meal. We concluded that it's the chrysanthemum tea because that's the only thing he drank but I didn't.
So don't say I didn't warn you.... Stay away from the drinks.
