One sunny morning, we went on a double date with Rachel and her hubby, Jun Qiang!
Many cafes have been popping up lately and everyone is going all the new cafes in town!
The last time GB and I came but this place was closed on a Wednesday?! So we came on a Saturday and it definitely won't be closed! We reached at about 10.30am and there were still seats. I think if you come later than 11am, you might have to go home on an empty stomach. The place's pretty small and crammed.
I am a sucker for drumsticks so the ones in the picture below totally had me. But I was there for brunch, and so I will stick to the brunch menu!
Stan's mocha. Very chocolatey. I thought it was quite nice but Stan said the caffeine was a bit too strong. Hmmm... Pls try it and let me know what you think!
I am so proud of myself for taking this gorgeous shot! Using my iPhone only. Wahahahahaha... Who needs a DSLR when my phone can do the same?
Rach and Jun Qiang had the lattes. Not as pretty as the mocha. LOL
DOC Breakfast Platter
Scrambled eggs were nicely done, not too dry nor too wet. And there was ham underneath the egg, very filling even though it looks plain. The cheese sticks at the side were yummy! But my favourite out of this dish is the peeled tomato at the side.
I am not a fan of tomato and only force myself to eat it because of the nutritional values. But this one, I am telling you, is darn good! It's so sweet and juicy and doesn't even have the tomato-ish taste at all! Thumbs up!
Sausages, Mushrooms and Eggs (self-explanatory, duh.)
Butter Rum Bananas Waffles with Vanilla Bean ice cream
The ice cream melted really fast! But waffle was soft and nice, matched well with the caramelised bananas.
Bit of Everything - twin nests of premium Spanish Serran cured ham & onsen egg and dill dressed smoked salmon with citrus dressing on herb & parmesan English muffins
I personally think that this is the most worthwhile item out of its brunch menu. But portion seems a bit small. It has a bit of everything, so it's nice if you wanna sample everything.
The cafe has very weak aircon (or maybe Singapore weather is just getting unbearable). Tables are quite small and food is on the pricey side. If you wanna chill out, my suggestion is Group Therapy down the road.
Anyways, I love double dates!! (so random, I know)
