Before I embrace 2013, it's time to do a recap of my life in 2012.2012 started with a good meal at Todai at MBS with my family. Things were off to a good start and I was in a new division within my company. Trying to learn the ropes and how to cope with the new work scope.
After trying out for a few months, I decided that I still prefer my former division. Thanks to a helpful mentor, I managed to move back to the former division and things at work have been rather smooth.
I started blogging more on food and less on criticizing people. That doesn't mean that the evil me has somewhat died. I am still the ever critical Michelle, always picking on others. Haha! I just changed my blogging style because I realized that people are more visual and prefer pictures to lengthy wordy posts.
There was a period of time where I went on a search for the best dim sum in Singapore. Sad to say, I think I still have not found it.
The biggest physical change for me in 2012 has gotta be my hair cut. From the long hair that I painstakingly maintained for 7 years was all snipped off in an hour. No regrets at all! Looking back, I only regretted not doing it earlier! I looked like Cleopatra, for god's sake, albeit an uglier version.
I went to Korea for the first time in my life and fell in love with it immediately. I have always resisted going there because I think that my fashion style isn't really Korean per se. Boy, was I wrong! There is so much more to Korea than just lace and and frilly skirts!
I simply love love love Korean food and I really enjoyed all the Korean food everyday when I was there. Besides, the people there ain't as rude as I thought. And so, I went back a second time in less than two months' time. This time, with Stan.
Sadly, this trip is also my last trip for 2012. I only went on two trips in 2012!! Oh my, so pathetic. Lol. Definitely gonna plan more trips for 2013.
I renewed my passion for books and went back to reading again. I am not chim kinda person to read all the finance, economics or philosophical books. My fave is chick lit! Haha I don't care what you think. Call me a bimbo. Bleah!
I seek solace in books and lose myself in the novels. It can make me forget about my troubles, temporarily. And so I dun make rash decisions so easily anymore. Helps myself to become stronger emotionally.
Looking forward to 2013, I only hope for everyone to be healthy and happy. That way, things will go smoothly for everyone. I don't know what to expect for the new year. But I do have two new year's resolutions: to give my best shot in whatever I do and be more even-tempered.
Some things are just not meant to be. I won't persist nor insist. I will learn to think of a better way to get around issues.
It is also a time to give thanks. I thank my family for being so supportive as always and it's a joy to spend time together. I cherish them very much! And of course, I wanna thank Stan for sticking around and always providing laughter and love. Haha! I want to thank my dearest friends who have created many beautiful memories together in 2012. More to come in 2013!
2012 has been a great adventure and I am definitely looking forward to 2013 and what life has in store for me!
Before 2012, I better get down to blogging about Christmas.
I hope your Christmas has been good =)
My first Christmas present!
(Well, technically not the first. My parents gave me an iPad Mini a few days earlier. My dad wanted to wrap it up, but I said I had to use it first. In case of any defects, can exchange within 7 days mah. Heh heh...)
You can control the alcohol level (chargeable at an additional $7 for more alcohol), sweetness and wetness.
it's quite good but I would have preferred it to be more moist. The wetness level of the cake is set at 1. I guess it's due to the nature of the cake? I am not a baker, so I don't know how it works.
One thing's for sure, the cake is really pretty and this log cake is much better than the ones outside! It's cheaper too, at $48 each.
I ordered the Mini Hero for Stan's family and here it is!
It's actually tiramisu in a cup and the wetness level is 2. I love this! The wetness is just nice for me.
Kinda pricey at $3.50 each (minimum order of 6).
If you are planning to order tiramisu for any occasion, be prepared to drive down to collect or end up paying $10-$15 for delivery to your doorstep.
The collection place is not really accessible by bus. Somewhere at Bartley. So, kinda mafan...
Next day back at work, I received a surprise Christmas present from GB! Haha, he is not one who celebrates Christmas, so I am very happy to receive this cute cup from him =)
In case I don't blog again till 2013, here's wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
